Film Viewing Practice Essay "Agent Carter"

Film Viewing Practice Essay "Agent Carter"          The scene opens with a flashback that is held between Peggy Carter and Captain America, in this scene Peggy believes that she lost Captain America forever which has a great toll on her after his death. The background music sets the tone of the opening scene; the dramatic orchestra music shows the dreadful moment that they share together. The eye level shots of both the characters allows us to see the emotion they hold in their faces and how emotional it is to say their last goodbyes. Next, the dolly shot is then used to slowly back away from Peggy crying, showing the emotional instability that she will have to go through. The next scene that gets introduces after the fade transition is placed in a business room. In this scene the audience can hear and see alarms going off in the room. This puts the audience in a confused state when what seems to be a professional...

Misce-en-scene

I chose to do my misce-en-scene post on the first episode of Stranger Things (S 1 E 1). This show starts off with a boy in the main characters friend group that goes missing when going on a bike ride home. Throughout the entirety of the first season a group of friends discover that their town is not what it seems. Throughout the first season the group of friends are introduced to someone who claims to be named Eleven, Eleven has one of the most significant parts to the story line due to the fact that she knows how to fight off the town's mysteries. The first episode starts off with a boy named Will on his way home after a night at his friends house. In this scene we are shown a low key lighting when a single light on Will's bicycle emits all the light in the scene. In this scene the bike's light makes everything in the scene visible but not quite to make everything out clearly. Next in this scene Will finds out that something has been watching him the entire time and he th...

Master Edits Used in Film

Image
This shot was a leitmotiff that was  filmed in the end of Avengers Endgame  (2019). In this scene Captain America is facing off against an army on his own when out of nowhere all of his friends that had disappeared somehow returned and helped to fight with Captain America. In the scene they play the Avengers theme in the background to lighten everyone's mood. This was a parallelism shot which was filmed in Captain America the First Avenger (2011). In this scene Captain America acquires his well known shield and makes a team of his own to destroy their enemies hideouts. This scene showed parallelism through the star on his shield because it switches scenes by transitioning through the star. This was a simultaneity shot that was filmed in Batman the Dark Knight (2008). In this scene Batman is given two locations by the Joker which regard where he kept two people, one being Rachel Dawes and the other being the new mayor Harvey Dent. When batman goes to find Rachel's locati...

My Movie Shots

Image
The movie I chose to watch was Toy Story. This movie was filled with tons of different camera shots and angles and was also a good movie to sit down and watch.                                            This was what I believe is an establishing shot, although                                              it didn't include a mountain or a waterfall, this scene is                                              what puts the movie into play.                                             This was a follow shot showing Andy playing around   ...

Storyboard Comments

When I was searching for different shots to comment on I decided on choosing Miguel and Luca. Luca's Shots: Your Cameo shot made me feel as if I were with your brother and as if I were in the same room as him, also I can almost feel his excitement. Your Extreme Close-up shot shows almost every detail in your brothers face. Your eye level shot made me feel as if I was looking right at your brother and it also gives me a sense of his emotions. Miguel's Shots:  I enjoyed watching your two shot because it made me feel as if I were currently with your subjects and I was a part of their friend group. I enjoyed your POV shot because it made me feel as if I were the one being kicked and I also enjoyed this because I believed that it was one of your funnier shots. For the extreme close up shot I could also relate to the fact that it was difficult trying to keep the camera still but I believe that you did a good job in doing so.
